- Apply SPF 30+ daily — pre-peel sun protection reduces post-peel hyperpigmentation risk
- Avoid extended sun exposure and tanning beds
- If you have a history of cold sores and treatment will be near the lips or nose: notify us — antiviral prophylaxis will be prescribed
Discontinue all of the following:
- Retinoids (tretinoin, retinol, adapalene, tazarotene)
- AHAs (glycolic, lactic, mandelic acid) and BHAs (salicylic acid)
- Benzoyl peroxide and prescription brighteners (hydroquinone)
- Physical or chemical exfoliants of any kind
Also stop waxing, electrolysis, depilatory creams, and laser hair removal on the face.
- Arrive with a clean, bare face — no makeup, sunscreen, moisturizer, or perfume
- Do not shave the treatment area the morning of your appointment
- Avoid aspirin and NSAIDs the day of treatment unless medically necessary
Superficial / Light Peel
- Minimal to no downtime (“lunchtime peel”)
- Mild redness and tightness same day; light flaking days 2–5
- Results build with a series every 4–6 weeks
Medium-Depth Peel
- Visible peeling days 2–3, peaks days 3–5, resolves days 7–10
- Social downtime 5–10 days
- Significant improvement in texture, tone, fine lines, and pigmentation
Please notify us before your appointment if any of the following apply:
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Accutane within the past 6–12 months
- Active cold sore, open lesion, wound, or infection in the treatment area
- Sunburn or significant sun damage within the past 2 weeks
- Active rosacea, eczema, dermatitis, or psoriasis in the treatment area
- History of keloid or hypertrophic scarring
- Photosensitizing medications
- Known allergy to any peel ingredient
